Jessie Reyez has been making waves throughout the industry with her incredible voice and changes things up on her latest. Following her quick rise, we’ve been stoked to hear what else the talented artist has been working on and now she’s back with an impressive new single “Phone Calls.”
Up to this point, most of Reyez’s songs have put her insane voice on full display with the focus on her falsetto, but this time she flexes her songwriting and raps a couple verses. Like always, the production is incredible with minimal melody, thumping basslines and skitter trap-inspired drums that drop in and out throughout the song with her voice always impressing us. Jessie scored a massive feature on Calvin Harris’ album following her debut EP Kiddo that’s been on repeat for us with “Straight Jacket” being one of my personal favorite releases all year. Enjoy!
